[ Poe's almost forgotten what it was like with someone who had literally never gone farther than a few stolen kisses of varying degrees of innocence. He was a fumbling but eager teenager himself once though, what feels like a lifetime ago, and he recognizes the kind of nervous fidgeting. There's differences too, just in that where he often threw himself into the unknown, confident in his ability to figure it out as he goes Finn is more cautious, always gentle in a way that most people never would have expected from a former stormtrooper. Poe wouldn't have either if he didn't know the man as well as he does. They've been through too much together for either of them to have hidden much at this point, even if they cared to.

Which is why this is both more and less complicated. That's new for him too, it's been a long time since he was intimate with someone he shared more than an easy friendship with, and maybe he's never gone that far with someone he felt such a deep bond with already. That's not to say that he hasn't felt things for people before, even his casual flings have some feelings attached to them, but this is different. Finn has to know that too, since given what he's heard about the way things go on this ship, it would be hard to stay naive about what people are doing with each other. Whether or not he decided to join in.

He waits until Finn's settled, and once he has there's definitely no space between them, since he's just going to nudge his shoulder lightly into Finn's, just something gentle and friendly to hopefully break the tension. ]
